Maggie & Peter

Maggie and Peter are planning an October wedding at Sebasco Harbor Resort - one of our favorite locations! It was such a treat for us to finally meet them. They live in North Carolina and until last Friday we'd only 'met' by phone and email.

They are a wonderful couple. We had a beautiful day to capture some images of them enjoying some time along the shore. I hope you both had fun at Sebasco last weekend tasting the food and getting all your wedding day plans in order! October may seem like a long way off, but, it will be here before you know it. We're so excited to be a part of your celebration!

Suzy & Kevin

On Saturday, May 3rd - a cloudy, drizzly Spring day - we welcomed the opportunity to photograph Suzy and Kevin's wedding! They had a very intimate celebration at St. John's in South Portland filled with lots of love and joyful tears. Their parents even surprised the couple with an official blessing from the Pope! I can't begin to tell you how special Suzy and Kevin are - they were such a joy to work with and it was truly an honor for us to be able to witness and capture their wedding day.

Congratulations you two!! We hope you also enjoyed the surprise we helped out with when you arrived on the boat for your honeymoon sail! :)

Perfect day for a ballgame

After a day like today, it's hard to believe just a few weeks ago we had freezing temps and snow on the ground! We packed up the kids, some neighborhood friends and our nieces and headed to the Portland Sea Dogs game this afternoon. It wasn't the greatest showing for the Sea Dogs, I'm afraid. But, we were there to cheer on every hit and fly ball catch! I admit, we also snacked on a few choice ballpark items - fried dough, hot dogs, ice cream, cookies, slushees, french fries... I'm pretty sure we sampled everything the concessions had to offer. Good times, let me tell you! :)

Did I mention there were soft pretzels and frozen lemonade, too? YUM!

The Ladies of Kidz 'n Maine

It was a HUGE treat for us to be able to photograph all the wonderful Moms behind the Kidz 'n Maine newspaper this morning! I was a little nervous on Friday when the forecast called for rain and fog - but, the weather gods were shining on us today!! What a wonderful group of women and their children were absolutely adorable!!

We spent some time capturing this group photo and then each mom with her children separately. These kids were amazingly patient and somehow they managed to stay clean until all the pictures were done. Trust me, that's no easy accomplishment when you're surrounded by lots of lovely diggable dirt and loose rocks! Of course, the moment the cameras were off - the real fun began!! The kids hit the playground at Fort Williams fueled with bagels and donuts and barely stopped to chew and swallow. It was the perfect day to relax and have fun - and take a few photos, too!

Check out next month's issue of Kidz 'n Maine to see more of the photos we captured today. We hope you have a very happy Mother's Day, ladies! :)

Get out and play!

I know it's been a while since our last post... I'll be the first to admit we're outside enjoying the sunshine - finally!!! We've been at the beach, the playground, riding bikes and swinging from trees. Of course, we've also had a birthday party and a family reunion to enjoy in the past week. No wonder I'm so tired! :)

This weekend we'll be at Portland Head Light photographing some of the wonderful moms behind the Kidz 'n Maine newspaper! We've been providing images to this publication since it started up last year and we're really excited to photograph the ladies and their children for the May issue. This paper is my number one source for info on all kinds of events and activities for kids in our area. With school vacation week coming up - it's a great resource!

We're also gearing up for our 2008 wedding season. Many of our brides are in the final phase of wedding planning and all the anticipation that goes along with it. We're super excited about each event!

Tea for three

One of the greatest perks about my job is that I get to be home with my little ones. Today I was especially lucky to attend a toddler tea with three adorable sweeties. Each of them dressed for the occasion and lots of fun was had by all! There were delicious muffins and fruit, coloring and even a story time. I may add that a three year old 'read' the story and it was wonderfully imaginitive!

Did I also mention that a neighborhood dad organized this little celebration? Quite impressive!

Happy Easter!

Okay, so we're a week late in the Easter wishes, but, better late than never, right? We were very fortunate to travel to Vermont for the holiday weekend. We met and were married there, so, it always holds a special place in our hearts. We were doubly excited that we were able to attend Easter mass at the chapel at Saint Michael's College. It's where we exchanged our vows back in June of 1999.

We also had a blast decorating eggs and baking our traditional bunny cake!! We know, one look at the cake and you say to yourself - wow, they could really have another business there... :)

We hope you're all enjoying these first few weeks of Spring. Despite the snow falling, there will be sunshine and beautiful spring flowers in bloom in no time - fingers crossed!!!
