One of our favorite things about photographing families in the Fall is the warm light tones and beautiful colors. Tige captured a few moments of fun with the Moore family at Wolfe's Neck State Park in Freeport back in October. It was one of those unusually warm Fall days, sun shining and their little guy would not be harnessed to pose for long! That's another favorite thing for us about photographing families... you never know what children will do next. :)

October 22nd celebrated the wedding day of Rebecca & Jesse. These are two of the sweetest people we've ever had the honor to work with. Their ceremony took place at the Universalist Church in Yarmouth, followed by a breathtaking reception at The Barn on Walnut Hill. A gorgeous fall theme was realized through the creative and unique touches by Meagan at Maine Seasons Events - and, the break-dancing groom, made this a truly memorable event!! Camp Wigwam hosted the September 24th wedding celebration of Rachel and Marc. This was a wedding like no other we've photographed! When we arrived, the entire camp had been taken over by friends and wedding guests playing rugby, tennis, kayaking, swimming, making crafts... it looked like a typical day at summer camp. When the activities wrapped up with an Apache Relay, Tige and I were exhausted running all over camp trying to capture it all! Every detail of the day, from the pre-wedding activities to the wedding itself, was meticulously planned and I don't think there was a single detail missed. Rachel and Marc clearly put so much of their heart and soul into this day. They wood-burned the table names and place 'logs' (not cards), they stitched their huppah from their baby blankets and they designed and created their own Ketubah, as well. It was a magical experience for us and every one in attendance!! Thank you both for having us - it was an incredible celebration!!!

Hilary and Josh celebrated their wedding on September 10th at Broadturn Farm in Scarborough. These two created such a wonderful and intimate atmosphere nestled among the beautiful fields and gorgeous flowers of the farm. There was an incredible energy from their family and friends who were completely excited to be a part of their day. Over the many months we were able to talk and work with Hilary and Josh it became increasingly obvious just what a special bond these two have together. We met Amy and Eamonn, for the first time, only a couple weeks before their wedding day. They pretty much had all their plans in place and described the whole scope of their day to us... a house overlooking the ocean with a tented reception. The pair were so excited about every detail and rightfully so!! When we arrived the two of them moved seamlessly through a house full of guests and family members. It was a busy scene, but, by no means chaotic. Everyone helped where they needed and it appeared that the entire event came together so magically. From the flowers, to the lighting, to the individual cakes... not to mention the breathtaking scenery! It was simply stunning!! We're so excited Amy and Eamonn asked us to be a part of their day - they are incredibly sweet and very much in love!! Congratulations, you two!!

I'm not sure I've ever met a more patient bride than Nicole. With a flurry of activity, children running around, people in and out asking her questions... she managed it all flawlessly and still managed to assemble her bouquets, get the table numbers finalized and all her other details ready in record time! Andrea & Anthony planned one of the most beautiful, romantic weddings we've had the honor to photograph. The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport played host to their vintage themed celebration on Friday, August 12th. It was such a unique and intimate wedding, filled with lots of personal touches. They crafted, painted or arranged almost every single detail. The only hiccup in the works was when the antique car they hired broke down while transporting Andrea and her bridesmaids to the ceremony... as luck would have it, an empty trolley car was passing by, stopped to help the stranded crew and delivered them to the beach in moments. How does an empty trolley car (mind you, it's summer in Kennebunkport!) just happen to be driving by moments after their car broke down??? Personally, I think the lucky penny Andrea found that morning had something to do with it. ;) Congratulations to you both!!!

On Saturday, June 25th, Jennifer and Andrew celebrated their wedding day at Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth. I'm not sure we've ever had a couple that experienced so much chaos leading up to their wedding day, as these two. Despite it all, they managed to pull off a spectacular celebration for their family and friends! Fortunately, the rain broke just in time to leave for the ceremony at St. Maximilian Kolbe and the overcast skies created a spectacular light for us to shoot. Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit with Melodie Provost at the Project Linus Quilt Show in Windham. The volunteers at Project Linus hold a very special place in my heart. Their mission is to provide hand-made blankets to children who are seriously ill, suffering from a trauma or otherwise in need of some comfort and security. Many of the blankets displayed included beautifully written and illustrated children's books and some even included an additional hand-made stuffed animal. The 'blanketeers' who put so much of their time and energy into sewing, crocheting or assembling these remarkable gifts are truly extraordinary!

Like so many days this summer, Colleen and Peter’s wedding day was no exception… beautiful, bright, blue skies and glorious sunshine! Saturday, August 14th, Boothbay Harbor flaunted a spectacular backdrop for their celebration. The church ceremony was about the only traditional part of the entire day. The reception, held at The Chowder House, provided a fun and funky setting for their guests to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of quintessential Maine. The bride and groom arrived to their party by lobster boat, enjoyed some truly wonderful, heart-felt toasts (with pink champagne… Colleen’s favorite color), sliced into some gourmet whoopie pies (in lieu of cake) and rocked the harbor with the outstanding rhythms and energy of Sugarfoot. Saturday, August 7th celebrated the wedding day of Molly and Evan on Peaks Island. Planning a wedding is no small task in and of itself; but, factor in relocating, grad school, exams and planning an island wedding long-distance... to many, it would seem impossible!! Somehow, despite it all, Molly and Evan managed to pull together a truly spectacular celebration! Molly wore her grandmother's veil which was absolutely stunning on her and she altered her mother's wedding gown to wear as her departure dress. It was so wonderful to see how she incorporated so many special touches into the day. From chartering a trolley to come over on the ferry to accomodate their guests, to the magical sparkler send-off at the end of the evening... it was a fantastic event from start to finish. Oh, and let's not forget the amazing sunset from Jones Landing!! Congratulations to you both... only 1,300 more Tuesdays to your 25th anniversary! :)

When we heard my cousin, Jeff, got engaged earlier this year, we were completely ecstatic!! Our first glimpse of them since their engagement was just last week when they came into town for a small family reunion. Of course, we gave them very little time to relax once they arrived. As the sun set over Portland Head Lighthouse, we managed to capture some quick engagement pics of the two of them. And, then we snuck over to Ferry Beach for the last bit of light on the horizon. It was a real treat for me to photograph Rachel's senior portrait at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth a couple weeks ago. Her family vacations in Maine every year and she's always wanted her senior pictures done along the beautiful coast. Unfortunately, the fog rolled in pretty heavy that evening and the only glimpse of the lighthouse you can see is through the dense haze. I guess that's all part of the Maine experience, though, right? Rachel was great... we hiked all over the park photographing in different locations and it was so much fun!!

In the scorching heat of Saturday, July 17th, Meagan and Andrew celebrated their wedding day in York, ME. These two are the most easy-going couple! It was so much fun for us to photograph their celebration. With over 200 guests in a reception location that didn't have air conditioning, I wasn't sure what to expect when the dance music started. Let's just say their family and friends were undaunted by the sweltering humidity and high temperatures - the dance floor was packed all night!! It was truly a celebration of Meagan and Andy's love and life together. Special Kudos to Foster's Clambake for putting on an amazing and seriously delicious spread!! From the beautiful ceremony, to the laid-back lobster bake reception and the whoopie-pie cake - this will be a celebration their friends and family won't soon forget!!

We are always incredibly excited to photograph families... especially when there is a new addition to the family involved!! The Webster family rallied their 4 year-old son and newborn daughter on a dreary, foggy morning, to capture some family pictures by the Portland Head Lighthouse last week. Their son was a little unsure of the whole experience at first, but he warmed up to the camera pretty quickly and, before long, was directing Tige on the best places and poses to photograph. It was a great time!! What a wonderful family! Congratulations on your baby girl!

A taste of Summer

Nothing says summer like the sweet, juicy, delectable goodness of strawberries!! I was so excited to find a place open for picking this early in the season, that I packed up the kids and headed off for a morning of harvesting. Dole's Orchard in Limington is a little bit of a drive from the Portland area, but, seriously well worth it!!

I love the strawberry stains on her dress in the background!

By the time we got home, the kids had little strawberry-juice smiles from snacking on these yummy morsels all morning long. The people at Dole's Orchard are incredibly friendly and they have so many fruits to harvest at their farm! All summer long you can get, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, pears, plums and more! I can't wait to go back. :)

These are two of the sweetest people I've ever met. Their kindness, generosity and love for each other is truly inspiring! Katie and Rob celebrated their wedding day on June 5th (the anniversary of the first time they spoke) at the Camden Opera House with a reception following at The Whitehall Inn. It was an intimate, family affair and one of the most special days we've had the honor to photograph. From the anxious and emotional moments leading up to the ceremony... to the hilarious (and quite remarkable) karoake performance of 'Love Shack', this is a day we won't soon forget! So much fun was had by all!! Here are just a few images of Katie and Rob's day...

An additional treat for us, is that we now get to share our own wedding date with Katie and Rob!! It's hard for me to believe we celebrated 11 years on the same day as their wedding. They very sweetly surprised us by clearing the dance floor and playing our wedding song at their reception. We will always hold a very special place in our heart for you both!! We first met Bryan and Nikki of Hindsight Video almost one year ago at a wedding shoot in Old Orchard Beach. They were easy to work with and amazingly adept at blending in to the background. We kept in touch after the wedding and finally were able to coordinate some time just to hang out and capture a few pictures for them. They're phenomenal people with such creative talent and energy.... not to mention the finished product they provide their couples will completely blow you away. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Yesterday afternoon, Project Linus and a group of 'blanketeers' took over the use room at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough. Surrounded by piles of fabric, blanket kits and every stitching tool imaginable, they set to work assembling and sewing blankets for children in need. Each blanket is handmade and given to a child who is seriously ill, experiencing trauma or otherwise in need of a bit of warmth and comfort. The Project Linus volunteers host 'Blanket Days' throughout the year all over the country. Check out their website if you're interested in getting involved in this very special project to benefit a child in your community.

Project Linus will also be hosting a Quilt and Blanket Show at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough on Saturday, March 27th from 10AM - 3PM to showcase some of the beautiful blankets they've created.

Up until a couple weeks ago, it had been a few years since we'd taken a family vacation. After wrapping up a very busy wedding and portrait season last year, we decided it was time to spend some quality family time together. We left the cold for hopes of warm Florida sun and perhaps catch a glimpse of that not-so-elusive mouse who holds residence in Orlando. We had such a great time as our son hit all the roller coasters for which he passed the height requirement and our daughter basked in the pampering of her own little princess boutique appointment. Some of our favorite memories... lunch with Shamu, luau at the Polynesian resort and just seeing our kids light up every day with the excitement of what the day would bring!

What made this vacation extra special was being able to share this time with my Mom and Dad. My father was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2001. We're grateful that he spent over 3 years in full remission before his symptoms began recurring last year. It was truly remarkable to see his energy and enthusiasm each day despite his fatigue from treatment and how hard his body is working to fight the cancer. You were a real trooper, Dad!! I'm so thankful for our time together.

When we photographed Bruce and Irene's daughter, Tara's wedding, in the Fall of 2007, little did we know, how much of an impact their family would have on us. We were thrilled at the news of their grand-daughter's birth last January and even more excited when Tara asked us to photograph another special family celebration - the 40th anniversary of her parents. The Samoset Resort hosted this very special occasion and it was such an incredible honor for us to capture images of their vow renewal and time spent with family and close friends.

Friday, October 16th our last wedding of the season took place in Wells, Maine. Melissa and Fred's wedding was a wonderful way for us to wrap up our season. These two were so much fun and every aspect of their wedding day was beautiful. From the bride and her bridesmaids flawlessly executing Michael Jackson's Thriller dance to the story of one family member's harrowing journey to be there that night, it was an evening full of much joy, laughter and celebration! Melissa and Fred's wedding is one we won't soon forget. The happy couple exchanged their wedding vows at the Wells Historical Society with their reception following at The Coastal House. October 10th felt more like a blustery, cold day in November. The sky was incredibly blue, the sunlight glistened on the ocean and the wind made the temperatures unbelievably frigid!! With Boothbay Harbor as a backdrop, Megan and Michael celebrated their wedding on this day at the Spruce Point Inn. It was a spectacular setting for these two and their friends and family who joined them in their celebration! From withstanding the cold temperatures to get some romantic pictures to singing and playing with the band to a surprise sparkler send off, this couple managed to do it all! As we headed to Kennebunkport for Cassandra & Nick's wedding, we remarked on how dark the skies were and the soft rainfall seemed unrelenting. They had a very intimate celebration planned at Pier 77 with the ceremony to take place outside. It was easy to see, however, there would be no outdoor event on this day. Despite the gloomy skies and last minute change of plans to their ceremony - Cassandra couldn't have been happier that she was getting married. Truly, she just beamed and it was so wonderful to see two people so in love and so excited to share their day with close family and friends no matter what the weather did outside.

So, on Saturday, October 3rd, Cassandra and Nick tied the knot in the very cozy and romantic setting of Pier 77. We felt so fortunate to be there and grateful for a small break in the weather to steal a few moments on the beach with the two of them before the dancing was underway! Eastland Park Hotel Bridal Show

I think the last Bridal show I attended was when I was planning my own wedding. Even though it was over 10 years ago, I still remember the excitement and anticipation of planning all the details of our celebration! Surprisingly, we've never ventured into the realm of displaying our work at a Bridal show. I've heard mixed reviews from brides and colleagues as to how they feel about attending and participating, so, it's made me shy away from the venue altogether. But... when Kimberly Finch contacted us to take part in the Eastland Park Hotel show taking place this Saturday, November 21st, I thought perhaps, it would be a great opportunity to showcase some of our work and meet some of the many couples just starting out on the wedding planning journey! The event takes place from 3-6pm and I hope you'll stop by and say 'hello'! We'd love to see you and hear about your plans and ideas for your own celebration!

We will have some small and highly useful favors available for you to take and for the first 2 people to mention our blog, we'll give you a silk bound, Cypress mini album. They're great for creating your own photo album, or to use as a guest book!

I know I've been a terrible blogger over the last several weeks! It's certainly not for lack of work. I have 4 more weddings to update as well as several portrait sessions! In my effort to focus on getting my editing done in a timely fashion - as well as care for my little ones, the blog has suffered from my reprieve. Many apologies!! :(

A few weeks ago, we received a note from one of our favorite wedding coordinators, Meaghan Gilpatrick, that she had submitted one of our weddings to the Style Me Pretty blog... and, it was published! We worked with Meaghan in Georgetown this August at Emily and Mario's wedding. What an amazing day they had! I can't say enough about what incredible attention to detail Meaghan put in to this celebration. Emily and her Mom had high aspirations and a definite style they wanted out of the day and everything came together flawlessly. From the suprise boat entrance to the Maine fog rolling in on a cool August evening, it was a perfect day from start to finish! We're so happy for Emily and Mario, so honored to have been a part of their day and huge kudos to Meaghan at Maine Seasons Events for pulling off such a breathtaking wedding!! When we took Ann & Jim's engagement photos back in January, it was difficult to believe their wedding day would be upon us so quickly! On Saturday, September 12th these two celebrated their wedding vows at Old North Church in Marblehead, MA with a reception following at the Eastern Yacht Club.

The Sharfsteins traveled up from New York to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary at Migis Lodge in August. I can't imagine a better location to relax and enjoy time with family than along Sebago Lake. They were doubly blessed that one of their daughters got engaged during their first night there! I just love this family - they were so much fun! I got to spend some time with the granddaughters in the morning and then photographed the rest of the family later in the day. Amidst the tropical rain and storm-force winds of tropical storm Danny, August 29th celebrated the wedding day of Katie and Dan at Sebasco Harbor Resort . These two were so easy-going about their day and thank goodness for that! Not only was the weather not cooperating, the power went out at the resort for about 45 minutes during the reception. Despite the unrelenting rainfall and gale-force wind gusts, these two managed to pull off a very sweet and romantic candle-lit celebration. Here's a small glimpse of their day...

I love this picture of the flock of geese hunkered down on one of the golf greens to wait out the storm. :)

Dan was suited up and ready to go pretty quickly. We captured a few formals of him and his groomsmen before heading to the ceremony.

Katie was pretty disappointed about the weather conditions, but, we found some indoor spots to capture some images of her and her bridesmaids. The cloudy skies made for some really beautiful light!

Then it was time to get Katie over to the ceremony. The staff at Sebasco was amazing and did their best to keep her sheltered from the elements...

The ceremony began a few minutes late, but, everyone was happy to be warm and dry!! Katie and Dan's officiant was a long-time family friend and he did such a wonderful job putting lots of personal touches and references in their celebration.

Once the ceremony was over, we managed to sneak the bride and groom over to the lighthouse. The light inside was spectacular and these two were even game to climb the ladder to the very top! So great!

The reception was soon underway and despite a few moments without lights, everything went flawlessly! I just love the cupcake display with the seaside theme Katie and Dan selected. Seriously, these cupcakes looked so beautiful... and delicious!!

We hope you both enjoyed every moment of your day! It was truly an honor for us to be a part of it!!

Nestled among the pine trees, summer cottages and shoreline of Small Point, Mariah and Whit exchanged their wedding vows on Saturday, July 18th. It was a very simple ceremony surrounded by all their close family and friends. The location could not have been more beautiful and the sunset was truly spectacular! I think everyone in attendance had a great time celebrating with these two - and who wouldn't.... with the amazing culinary creations from Belle Fete catering and Sly Chi playing well into the night - it was a night Mariah and Whit, their guests and certainly we won't soon forget!! This very sweet and truly wonderful couple celebrated their wedding day on Friday, July 17th on Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport. Thick fog rolled in making it the quintessential Maine backdrop to their beach wedding. Michelle and Jim did an amazing job of planning their day from Maryland, and, incorporating Jim's daughter in so many special touches and moments throughout their celebration. It was a day filled with laughter, warm wishes and loving families. I'm not sure I've ever seen so many children at a wedding - and, what a blast they all had! These two made sure that every single guest had a great time. It was a very special day and we're so happy to have been a part of it. Ocean Woods Resort (just up the road from the beach) hosted the reception with seriously, some of the most delicious food - super yummy!!

It was a spectacular day for a fantastic couple on Sunday, July 12th. Traveling from Bozeman, MT, Meaghan and Geoff were married at the Woodlands in Falmouth. We had the great fortune to correspond fairly often with Meaghan and Geoff as they made preparations for their wedding day. They had loads of great ideas and insight about the images they liked and what they hoped for their own celebration... and, they were truly up for anything! We had SO much fun photographing this wedding and these two - we didn't want the day to end!!! Here's just a little glimpse into their day...

Saturday, June 20th, the weather managed to hold off for us, yet again, in honor of Heather and John's wedding day! A late afternoon ceremony was held at the Immanuel Baptist Church followed by an evening reception at The Eastland Park Hotel.

Heather and her bridesmaids were so much fun to hang out with before the ceremony. They were busy getting hair finished, make-up applied and dressed... all while periodically taking time to play with the two flower girls (who should be applauded for their incredible patience!!). :) Heather even made time to help the flower girls with their make-up.

A surprise gift from John...

As you can see, Heather was pretty excited about it! :)

Then it was time to head to the church.

There was a little nervous energy as John and his groomsmen prepared for the big event. They soon made quick work of getting dressed, though and they were off to do some formals before going to the church.

A little after 4pm, the ceremony was underway. This church is filled with the most beautiful stained glass and it was a wonderfully romantic setting as Heather and John exchanged their vows.

We accomplished a handful of family formals after the ceremony. (BIG thanks to the best man for all his help in keeping people organized and ready to go!) Then we spent a few minutes with the bridal party and just the bride and groom before heading in to the reception.

It was a spectacular wedding! The Bob Charest Band had everyone on the dance floor all night (as always) and the crowd was shouting for more as the reception ended! Everyone had a great time with Heather and John on this day. It was so clear just how much these two mean to all of their family and friends.

We wish you both continued happiness in the years to come!

After days of rain and a morning of continued showers, the downpours finally gave way to beautiful billowy white clouds and bright blue sky... in perfect timing and harmony with Andrea and Jon's wedding day celebration. On Saturday, May 30th this very sweet couple exchanged vows in a picturesque backyard setting in Wells overlooking the salt marsh and ocean in the distance.

Andrea and her maid of honor were working on some last-minute details and preparations when we arrived. From the home-made favors to the flower girls' floral headpieces, Andrea had put a personal touch into every aspect of this day.

Once the rest of the bridesmaids arrived, they made quick work of getting dressed and ready for pictures before Jon and his groomsmen arrived. We took a few pictures of Andrea with her family and bridesmaids before she ducked out of sight until the ceremony.

Jon and his groomsmen arrived by limo ready for formals and then had a few moments to relax before the ceremony began.

The ceremony took place in the late afternoon with the couple surrounded by their close friends and family.

Then we had some time for formals of the family and bridal party. Andrea and Jon also wanted to escape for a short time during dinner to go down to the beach as the sun went down.

It was such a lovely wedding day! There were so many special touches to this celebration... and so many cameras!!! Andrea and Jon will surely have tons of great images to remember their day.

Megan and Brian celebrated their wedding last Saturday, May 23rd at Saint Bartholomew in Cape Elizabeth with a reception following at Dunegrass in Old Orchard Beach. It was a carefully planned celebration with so many wonderful details. Here are just a few glimpses into their day...

Things were off to a bit of a late start when the ladies took a little longer than expected getting their hair done. With a little help from her mom and her sister, Megan made fast work of putting on her gown and slipping into her shoes.

Once everyone was ready, we headed out for some pre-ceremony formals of the bride and groom with some of their close family. We managed to accomplish most of the family formals before Brian and his groomsmen were off to the church. Below are just a few shots of the bridal party.

After the ceremony, we captured a few quick pics on the altar and dashed over to Kettle Cove for some beach shots before heading to Dunegrass.

There was also this unexpected visitor at the beach that day...

Once at Dunegrass, there were a few more posed formals taken before the couple joined the party with their family and friends. The sunset that evening was incredible and we managed to get a few shots of Megan and Barry on the green just before dark.

The reception was a blast! From cigars and a candy table to all the additional personal touches, Megan and Brian did an amazing job of making their wedding day memorable for everyone! We can't thank you both enough for including us in your celebration. We truly had such a great time - enjoy your honeymoon!!!

Saturday, May 16th, the Samoset Resort hosted the wedding celebration of Katie and Jeff. Surrounded by family and friends, on a green overlooking the ocean, this wonderful couple exchanged vows... complete with a lighthouse foghorn sounding in the distance. It was truly a romantic Maine setting for all who attended.

Katie and her bridesmaids were enjoying a leisurely time of getting hair and make-up done when we arrived. I'm not sure I've ever encountered a bride so relaxed and at ease in preparation for her walk up the aisle.

In the meantime, Jeff and the groomsmen finished up a short round of golf, grabbed a quick bite to eat and were quickly suited up for some pics, as well.

The ceremony was simple and lovely...

Then it was time for a group photo, some family formals and a few moments with just the bride and groom before the party was underway...

We had such a great time and it was such an honor for us to be a part of Katie and Jeff's wedding day! Their family and friends kept us laughing all night long!! Saturday, March 14th celebrated the wedding of Stephanie and Matthew at the Eastland Park Hotel in Portland. These are two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and their day was absolutely beautiful in every way! There were lots of emotions, laughter and excitement from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Here are just a few images of their wedding day...

Stephanie and her bridesmaids arrived shortly before Matt and his groomsmen, so, they made quick work of getting to their room to get dressed for pictures before the ceremony. Stephanie was full of emotions. Through it all, her bridesmaids helped keep her composed. They are an amazing group of friends!! I managed to sneak a quick pic of Stephanie's gown before she put it on...

After adding some finishing touches and posing for a shot by the window, it was off to get a group formal of Stephanie with her ladies. This shot was Stephanie's first full-length view of herself with her wedding gown on...

Meanwhile, Matt and his groomsmen had arrived at the Eastland and were busy getting suited up.

Tige captured a few moments with the guys at the bar at the top of the Eastland, before they headed down to the ceremony.

The ceremony was very intimate - only close family and so sweet! Lots of tissues were needed for this celebration!

Once the ceremony ended, we had only a handful of formals to accomplish. Then we managed to get Stephanie and Matt outside in the brisk March air. They hung in there despite Stephanie shivering!!

It wasn't long before we were back inside and the couple was introduced to a ballroom reception filled with their family and friends.

Of course, no event is complete at the Eastland without their traditional flambe presentation! Stephanie and Matt had a special twist on this tradition, however. They had individual cakes served to each guest... they looked SO yummy!!

We are so excited to have been chosen to photograph such a wonderful celebration! It was truly an honor for us to capture your day. Thank you both so much for including us. We hope you're enjoying a peaceful and relaxing honeymoon!

The new look of Kidz 'n Maine

A few days ago, I was fortunate enough to photograph the cover story for the March issue of Kidz 'n Maine. Marie-Gaelle and her students at a local French immersion pre-school were wonderful to work with - the kids have so much fun there!!! I'm not sure a single one of them stopped smiling the entire time I was there. Thank you all for making my job so much fun! :)

It truly was so frigid, I thought my fingers might just fall off my hands! They were real troopers to hang out with us and let us capture some images of the two of them. On Saturday, October 18th - a brisk and beautiful Fall day - Stephanie and Gareth exchanged their wedding vows. The ceremony was held on the grounds of Camp Northstar in Poland Spring with a reception following at the rustic and romantic Cliffside Lodge overlooking some spectacular foliage and beautiful ponds. Each detail of their celebration was carefully planned and wonderfully creative! These two have such spirit and love for each other, it's difficult to capture it with mere words. It was an incredible honor for us to be a part of their day!

When we arrived in the morning, Steph's bridesmaids were getting their hair done and Steph was all smiles and seemingly very relaxed. I'm not sure we captured a single image of Stephanie the entire day where she wasn't completely beaming! She was a radiant bride. Here are some images of the moments leading up to the ceremony....

Stephanie's stepmother designed and created her wedding gown, the bridesmaid gowns and the flower girl dresses. They were absolutely stunning! Inside the bodice of Steph's gown, she had embroidered the couples' initials along with their wedding date.

Gareth and the groomsmen were MIA in the morning... There were rumors of bowling shirts and a quest for some candlepin bowling lanes - but, when no bowling alley was located, there was some story involving all the guys in a cornfield somewhere. The details are a bit fuzzy, but, they made it back in plenty of time to get prepped and ready for the big event.

The ceremony was very simple and sweet. Stephanie and Gareth each wrote their own vows and managed to read them flawlessly! It added a very personal and intimate touch for the gathering of family and friends who witnessed their marraige.

Then it was off to some formals and some time with just the two of them...

The reception was beautifully decorated and arranged by family and friends. The couple was greeted with many toasts from parents, siblings and friends. Each toast was full of love and celebration for this special day! We were so struck by how many lives Stephanie and Gareth have impacted with their kindness, laughter and generous nature. We wish you both all the best for a wonderful and happy life together!! Thank you so much for including us in your celebration!

Saturday, October 11th the Wells Reserve played host to the wedding of Ellen and Adam. These high school sweethearts put on a celebration that was truly a family affair! Ellen's dad played the role of event coordinator - and, I was blown away by his skills at keeping everything on track and organized! Adam's mother did an amazing job of creating the bouquets and floral arrangements for the ceremony and reception. The music, reception set-up, lighting and decorations were also handled by family and friends. Ellen's mom even baked some super delicious traditional greek cookies using only one hand!! This couple is wonderfully blessed with many adoring loved ones. It was a tremendous honor for us to be a part of Ellen and Adam's wedding. Here are a few glimpses into their beautiful day....
